Dr. Mina Yohana, President of the Global Conscience for Human Rights, emphasized that climate justice cannot be achieved without respecting and protecting human rights. Speaking at #COP30, Dr. Yohana stressed that words must be transformed into tangible actions, and that climate ambitions must match the urgency of the global environmental crisis.
Dr. Yohana highlighted that the present moment is critical for immediate human-rights-based action to ensure a sustainable and safe future for generations to come, noting that any climate policies that disregard human rights will be incomplete and fail to deliver true justice.
He added: “Human rights are not a luxury in climate policies; they are the foundation upon which all measures must be built to ensure a safe and just planet for everyone.”

أكد الدكتور مينا يوحنا، رئيس منظمة الضمير العالمي لحقوق الإنسان، أن العدالة المناخية لا تتحقق دون احترام وحماية حقوق الإنسان. وفي إطار مؤتمر #COP30، شدد الدكتور يوحنا على أن الكلمات يجب أن تتحول إلى أفعال ملموسة، وأن الطموحات المناخية يجب أن تتناسب مع مستوى الإلحاح العالمي الذي تفرضه الأزمة البيئية.
وأشار الدكتور مينا يوحنا إلى أن الوقت الحالي هو لحظة حاسمة للتحرك الفوري على أساس حقوق الإنسان لضمان مستقبل مستدام وآمن للأجيال القادمة، مؤكدًا أن أي سياسات مناخية لا تراعي حقوق الإنسان ستكون ناقصة ولن تحقق العدالة المنشودة.
وأضاف: “حقوق الإنسان ليست ترفًا في سياسات المناخ، بل هي الأساس الذي يجب أن تبنى عليه كل الإجراءات لضمان كوكب آمن وعادل للجميع”.
