Dr. Mina Yohanna, President of the Global Conscience Human Rights Organization, strongly condemned the inflammatory calls issued by Israeli settler organizations calling for the bombing of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. He described these calls as a dangerous provocation to the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world and a blatant violation of the sanctity of religious sites.
Dr. Mina emphasized the need for an immediate halt to all violations occurring within the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, warning of the danger of continued attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, given their disastrous consequences for regional and international stability and peace.
The President of the Global Conscience Human Rights Organization called on the international community to assume its legal and humanitarian responsibilities and take urgent steps to halt these Israeli violations, which contravene the principles of international law.
He pointed out that Al-Aqsa Mosque holds a high status among Muslims around the world, as it is the mosque to which the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, was taken on his Night Journey, as stated at the beginning of Surat Al-Isra: “Glory be to Him who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed.”
Dr. Mina Youhanna concluded his remarks by calling on the UN Secretary-General to ensure full international protection for religious sanctities and to safeguard them from any attacks that violate their sanctity or threaten their safety.
